SERVICES – live performance body painting

Live performance body painting in front of event attendeesPeople of all walks of life and backgrounds enjoy watching a tasteful, artistic, trans-formation process of a model being painted by a professional artist. Even in a rush they will stop dead in their tracks and watch the entire process for long periods of time before they must hurry on their way, which is a golden opportunity for a business to engage the public and to distribute literature. Live body painting can be as family safe, artistic and corporate as needed to suit all tastes and sensibilities, as well as naughtier for adult-fun events of all types.

Live body painting is superior choice of entertainment at almost any kind of show, from auto shows to vehicle conventions, adult-fun events, art and crafts shows, conventions, expos, medical-anatomical demonstrations, as an accompanying side act for concerts and other theatrical events.

Joshua has years of experience doing live painting  front of crowds of all types. The most basic and plain presentation is Joshua dressed regularly, body painting a model (in a tube top and booty shorts for example) with regular makeups  in a theme or purpose or goal in a defined proximity of time. For example, if the client is Coka Cola,  the model can be painted to resemble a bottle of Coka Cola. Once the model is painted the model can simply stand around and smile for a duration of time or talent can be casted and can perform a wide variety of entertaining performances from miming to dancing to human statue mimicking.

Joshua can take the presentation further and get costumed-up into all sorts of themed looks ,and body paint the model  or performer and together they perform a skit. Joshua has all sorts of theatrical paints and bells and whistles like glow in the dark paints, Ultra Violet paints, glitters and latex paints which can be factored into the presentation for more dramatic effect. Joshua works with Toronto’s top reputable, professional freelance models, actors and performers to put on superior artistic demonstrations and performances.

Professional Body Painting in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Joshua Andrews

I was body painting and temporary tattooing models all weekend at a convention in Toronto, Ontario, by the airport .  I casted a few gorgeous models a few days before the event that were then body painted by me live in front of the convention goers. All the while I had my associate rendering temporary tattoos on event goers and other associates assisting in other matters. I could not have done it all alone, no doubt.

2010 Oscar VIP Party – Toronto, Canada  -  Sat Jan 16th, 2010

This is a great  story.

Warner Brothers was holding a very important, private, VIP event in Toronto, Canada, that was Oscar Awards-themed. I cannot tell you any more then that because I am not allowed to.  The MC for Canada’s Warner Brothers events is a talented public relations professional by the name of Chris Lewchuck, who you can see in my photo portfolio for Warner Brothers – The Watchmen photo gallery and for this event Chris wanted to be made to resemble an Oscar Award for his performance as co-master of the evening’s ceremony.

What this involved was getting: shoes, socks, pants, a belt, and a shirt for the MC and painting them gold. The next part of the outfit was matching a gold face makeup paint to the gold textile paint on the clothes so that they matched. Some of my peers  mistakenly use acrylic paint and Createx brand in particular to do this, however that is amateur and unsafe. Proper, safe, makeup must be used on the skin and especially on the face. So, matching the clothing’s textile paints and face paints involves, knowledge, experience, further research and testing, or in other words – work.  A bald cap had to be applied onto the MC before the show and then blended into into the skin using the makeup effects face paints, which do not always work as well on non-skin as they do on skin, which poses more skill testing complications.

Instead of hiring me for this event, or even hiring any of my skilled associates from the very beginning,  the entity that actually organized the WB event hired one of my competitors, who will remain nameless. My competitor did a proper flat airbrushing job on the shoes, belt and pants, however the shirt looked yellow and it was obvious that the competitor ran out of the paint and used a substitute. Furthermore, the gold paints that were used on the clothing were not matched to any face paints and for reasons unknown to me, my competitor walked off the job the day before the event.

I was called by the event organizer  just over a day before the event to see if I could take over the project and in essence, to rescue this looming catastrophe at the last minute.  I had work already to do booked however I called my clients and requested a delay because of the WB problem and my clients, who are the most awesome ever, granted me the time. With one day to work with I picked up the clothing from the event organizer and took them back to my studio and began testing paints. Once I had my paints worked out, I had to go out to numerous stores around Toronto and color match the paints and then purchase quantities of the paints. I then returned back to my studio and re-painted the clothing so that it all matched the face paints.

The next day, I arrived to the venue a few hours before showtime and immediately met the staff involved in organizing the event and the Warner Brothers MC who was the subject getting painted. Chris, the MC got dressed and then I began applying the bald cap. After the cap was applied I applied makeup to the neck, face and bald head. It was only then at that moment that I was informed that there were a pair of white gloves that need to be painted gold as well, and that the main prop of the Oscar, the sword, was not even thought about by anyone. I was dumbfounded at this because the main, center prop of the Oscar award is the sword that Oscar leans on!

I finished painting Chris the MC and he then began his sound check , meanwhile I began painting the gloves and making a sword from scratch which would have to be painted gold as well. I was able to pull this off because I brought extra types of paints with me just in case, otherwise the Oscar Award MC would have been wearing white gloves and been swordless. he still looked very cool and entertaining however the point was to make him into an Oscar award, not Gold Man the MC.

CHARITY

Airbrush Toronto helps Canadian charities!!!

If I can assist in helping a charitable cause I will donate my skills and talents whenever possible.

In fact I have already participated in many of Toronto’s premiere charity events rendering temporary tattoos, doing body painting live, and other types of airbrushing.

For example here is a video that I made of my participation in the North York General Hospital’s charity to raise awareness about cancers below the waist.

Canadian Liver Foundation had me do temporary tattoos at their star studded, 5 star gala Live Right.
MuchMusic personality Sabrina Jalees cohosted the event. The main stage featured performances by Canadian indie rockers Tokyo Police Club, a dance performance by Twisted Ankles Crew, a fashion show featuring designers such as Ed Hardy, and a skate board and BMX bike demonstration.

Joshua has rendered temp tattoos at the annual, swanky fundraiser Boobalicious  to provide temporary tattoos on the event goers.

Doing temporary tattoos at a VIP party for charity

Joshua was chosen by the five star millionaires party Moto Amore to provide temp tattoos.

Blue Sexy Lioness-Zebra

I body painted a beautiful model as a live art show for event goers at the 5 star event Ars Audet which raised funds for the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) who provide a wide range of services for those living with HIV/AIDS and for those concerned about HIV infection.
